Myasthenia Gravis is a neuromuscular disease leading to fluctuating weakness and fatiguability. Myasthenia Gravis is a latin term meaning grave muscle weekness. This disease is famous as an autoimmune disorder. Being so widely known, doctors have researched and found out many of the disease mechanisms and symptoms.

The disorder affects only the function of your muscles, and the muscle weakness you experience improves when you rest. Myasthenia gravis may cause double vision, drooping eyelids, difficulties with speech, chewing, swallowing and breathing, as well as weakness of your limbs, said the Mayo Clinic.

Myasthenia Gravis is a type of autoimmune disorder, a neuromuscular disease that usually results to muscle weakness and fatigue primarily in the face. This makes the muscles get tired and weakened more easily than what is normal. Muscle control is improved after a considerable rest which is partly one of the reasons why there are people with Myasthenia Gravis which are not diagnosed because they tend to disregard the symptoms as just simple conditions of fatigue.

Well modern medicine seems to function with very little common sense because the doctors are all still mopping and the water is running faster every year as cancer, heart disease and autoimmune diseases continue to increase in most developed countries.

The treatments of this disease focus on altering one immune system so that fewer antibodies are produced and therefore the muscle can rebuild its acetylcholine receptors. Perhaps the most commonly used initial medication is prednisone. In addition many patients will take a medication called mestinon or celcept. This does not treat the underlying problem but can improve the Myasthenia Gravis symptoms. Medications are basically to suppress the immune system to stop the production of antibodies that kill the cells.

If the Botox injections have not been administered properly by a qualified medical professional then it may lead to botox side effects like localized pain, infection, inflammation, tenderness, swelling, redness, and/or bleeding/bruising. Therefore, it is necessary that all the precautions must be taken before the injections are finally administered. Patients with certain neuromuscular disorders such as ALS, myasthenia gravis, or LambertEaton syndrome may be at increased risk of serious side effects of botox.

Steroid medications have major effects on the metabolism of calcium and bone. Steroid therapy can result in severe bone loss, osteoporosis, and broken bones. High dosage of steroid medications can cause rapid bone loss, up to as much as 15 percent per year. If you are on steroids, you are more than twice as likely to have a spine fracture as compared to a person not taking steroids

Myasthenia gravis is characterized by weakness and rapid fatigue of the voluntary muscles. This condition is more common in women younger than 40 and in men older than 60. This condition is believed to result from an immune dysfunction which causes the neurotransmitter acetylcholine to become less effective. Some muscle groups are more commonly affected than others and include the eye muscles, face and throat muscles and muscles in the arms and legs.

One of the most common causes for side effects is the delivery of the injection and the environment it is given to the patient. Botox injections administered by unqualified practitioners can result in localised pain, infections, swellings, redness, bruising or bleeding. So it is very important that the botox injections are administered in sterile conditions. Patients with certain neuromuscular disorders such as ALS, Myasthenia Gravis, or LambertEaton syndrome may encounter serious side effects.
